Answers to the most common questions about booking, pickup, returns, and what to do if something goes wrong.
A standard Australian car licence (P2 or above) is required. You will need your physical licence to verify your ID at booking โ digital licences cannot be accepted at this stage. L-plate holders are not permitted due to insurance restrictions. P1 holders are not permitted as our trailers exceed the permitted towing weight for P1 licence holders. P2 and full licence holders are welcome. Checking your vehicle's towing capacity against the trailer's ATM is your responsibility โ the booking system does not verify this for you.
Moving a car or large object under 1340kg? Book the Car Trailer. Rubbish runs, garden waste, furniture, general gear? Caged Box Trailer. Moving livestock? Cattle Trailer. The booking system shows full specs so you can decide before you commit.
After booking online you'll get asked to confirm your ID. You will need your physical licence to do this โ we are currently unable to upload your digital licence. An email confirmation with your trailer number, padlock code, and site address will be sent automatically once your booking is paid for and the driver's ID is verified. Turn up at your chosen time slot. Your numbered trailer will be at the site. Use the code in your email to unlock the padlock, take the keys and unlock your hitch, keep the hitch lock unlocked for the end of your hire, put the keys back in the padlock and hold shut until it locks again. Hook it up and go. No one to meet. All camera-monitored.
If you're running late, update your booking through the link in your email as early as possible. If the trailer is available to extend, you can do this through the link. Late returns without notice may attract extra fees โ especially if someone else has booked after you. The system tracks it all, so just be upfront.
If there's a genuine mechanical issue with the equipment prior to or during your hire, STOP ASAP and please call us on 0477 957 051 and send as many pictures as possible. We'll review and sort it out. If the issue is found after the hire, note this and take pictures when closing your hire off at the end. Outside of equipment faults โ the system is self-serve and runs as booked.
Any issue must be reported within 24 hours of hire start via text or email. We review all cases โ genuine equipment problems on our end will be made right. Outside that window, or for change-of-mind cancellations, see the full Refund Policy linked in the footer.
Nope. The whole thing is online. Pick your trailer, pick your location, pick your time, pay, verify your ID, get confirmation. That's it. No phone calls, no waiting, no middleman. Just you, the booking system, and the trailer.
Your booking confirmation email contains your trailer number and a unique access code. On site, find your numbered trailer, locate the key box on the driver's side of the trailer, enter your code, retrieve the key, and use it to unlock the hitch. Put the key back and click the lockbox shut before leaving. Full step-by-step: Opening the Lock Box โ or the complete Self-Service Pickup Guide โ

Keep heavy items low and forward of the axle โ aim for roughly 60% of the weight in the front half of the trailer. Balance left-to-right, secure everything with rated ratchet straps anchored to the trailer tie-down points, and re-check tension after the first few kilometres. Never exceed the trailer's ATM shown on the compliance plate. Full guide: Loading & Unloading โ and Packing Tips by Trailer Type โ
Some of our heavier trailers are fitted with the Elecbrakes EB2 wireless electric brake controller. If your trailer has one, you must set it up before towing โ it takes about five minutes using the free Elecbrakes app on your phone. Turn your headlights on first (this powers the unit), connect via Bluetooth, set the gain for your load, and do a slow test stop to confirm. Full guide: Electric Brakes Guide โ
The Domin8r Xtreme winch is fitted to our car trailers for loading vehicles and heavy machinery. Always attach the hook to a rated recovery point โ never to plastic bodywork or non-structural parts. Keep bystanders clear of the cable, never stand in line with it under tension, and always secure the load with straps before releasing the winch hook. Full operating guide: Electric Winch Guide โ
In NSW, light vehicles (GVM up to 4,500 kg) towing a trailer must comply with the posted speed limit โ there is no separate reduced limit just for towing. However, driving at or below 100 km/h is strongly recommended regardless, as stopping distances increase significantly with a loaded trailer. If you cross into Queensland, a 100 km/h cap applies to all towing combinations regardless of the posted limit. Full breakdown: NSW Towing Regulations โ
