Where it all began
They say if you want friends, buy a car trailer. Troy bought one — and sure enough, the calls started coming in. Mates asking to borrow it. Troy let them, strictly keeping it to close friends. It was never a business. It was just helping people out.
When income took a hit due to events outside their control, Troy and La-Toya made the call to open hiring to the public. Operating out of the front of a 300 square metre block they rented in Aberglasslyn, they ran a genuine 24-hour service from day one. Word spread fast.
The hires kept coming. They found themselves turning people away — so they bought a second trailer. The operation was real now, and it was growing.
They moved to Branxton and the business came with them. It was here the fleet expanded — trailers three and four were added, one was sold, a caged box trailer came on board, and eventually the cattle trailer joined the lineup. The operation was becoming something serious.
After years operating as Branxton Trailer Hire, the business got a rebrand worthy of where it was heading. The name changed. The trailers didn't. The service didn't. The crew didn't. Croc Hire is the same operation — just with a tougher name and a bigger vision.
Croc Hire has since implemented a fully online booking system, continued the 24-hour service that was there from day one, and is actively looking to expand operations across the Hunter Valley. The same values that started it — community, reliability, trust — still run the show.

Troy helps with advice where needed but has stepped back to let La-Toya take the reigns
La-Toya runs Croc Hire — keeping the bookings, the process, and the customers sorted. The system is built to be self-serve, but having someone who genuinely cares about how it runs makes all the difference.
